Sledding and sliding to work

Blizzard warning tonight. White out warning. 50 MPH winds expected.

I’ve been trudging through the snow for the last two days going to work.

It doesn’t matter if you have a 4 x 4 drive when you’re on ice there’s nothing

to grab on to and you have no traction.

I try and keep a lot of sledding and sliding to a minimum.

It’s so dark in the morning that’s my biggest complaint.

Some cars keep their brights on and it blinds me.

You think you know your road until you lose visibility.

Your taking curves left and right that you never knew were there.

Now I don’t mind driving in this weather.

I should be used to it by now.

It takes a little getting used to it again.

You’re fighting the elements.

You can’t predict everything that will happen.

Things happen, try and keep it under control.

And you’ll be smarter for it..

Summertime

By chance I stumbled on this moment in time right in front of me,

and I knew instantly I wanted to do this painting.

Just leisurely going down the river not having a care in the world

except the hot sun and the cool shadows

and the subtle conversation it inspired.

A time and place dear to my heart and soul.
