I do go through a lot of pencil these days, it was kind of hard to find one that didn’t need to be sharpened. I just wanted to jot this down. Did you miss me? People come and go in this vast world of blogging. I survived covid. In this last year I had two family members pass away and my cat. We stood on different sides of the tracks, but we were still family. Covid complicated things made everyone indifferent, not reaching out, gave everyone boundaries and rules. I complied to what they wanted but not what the world wanted.
I had been working on a series of painting for a few years. It all came together, and a gallery signed me on in 2021 for a year. I came home with some groceries and as they put them away, they saw there was a bottle of Champaine. They said Champaine. I said yes were celebrating.
In 2021 everyone had to wear masks to enter the gallery and I’m sure the gallery did well although none of my painting sold. They said a lot of people were interested in my work and I got a lot of good feedback but no takers. So, they asked me to come back in 2022. I got to work and did some more painting but at a smaller scale or a medium size scale. As I say in this blog creativity stems from a variety of life experiences, as an artist, I record life that surrounds me and I’m starting to think that life might be more interesting than I thought.
To sum up I was in the gallery in 2022 and I had some success that they invited me back in 2023 and again now in 2024. That is where I am today up early drinking coffee and staring at my canvas.
